Cook Forest is one of my favorite places to go hiking and camping. Not only does this place have some wonderful hiking trails, it also has a lot of great scenic views, moss covered rocks and trees, and a nice, peaceful feel to it.

Cook Forest is famous for it's Forest Cathedral: awesome stands of old-growth Eastern White Pine and Eastern Hemlock. This area has more White Pine over 150 feet (46 m) than any other site in the northeastern United States. A lot of these wonderful trees have been growing since 1644, after a drought and fire. Cook Forest has also been ravaged by tornado damage, which you can still see the impact of today.
Cook forest is a National Natural Landmark. It also is one of the "Twenty Must See State Parks" in Pennsylvania, and has been rated one of America's top 50 State Parks by "National Geographic Traveler" magazine.
